Tech meet up in Drogheda.

I have heard of a lot of groups meeting around the country in Dublin, Limerick, Galway, Cork, Carlow etc but I haven't heard of anything in Drogheda.

Is it just that there's no one interested in this kind of thing in Drogheda or is it that none has been set up yet?

If there's nothing like this running, I'd love to try to get something started.

Before I explain any further would there be an interest in this kind of meet up? It could be something as infrequent as the Linux install workshops that are held by members of the Irish Linux Users groups from time to time to promote alternative operating systems to Windows or it could be something as regular as TOG in Dublin. At this point I don't seem any problem with setting up anything once the interest is there. Or, maybe there's already something there that I'm just not aware of?

    Thanks.

I have just come across this topic now. I have been thinking along the same lines. Theres nothing that I am aware of, and I would be interested. I have attended a few talks/workshops over the past few months at TOG myself, but its not realistic for me to use it given the distance to travel.
A Hackerspace/MakerSpace along the same lines in Drogheda would be great.

    Brilliant.
Glad to get a response from this topic. It's been a while since I posted it.

There is a company called more solutions in Drogheda, they might be worth talking to about this. Mainly because I think they might be interested as well.

I know they have started a "coder dojo" at mor solutions for kids http://coderdojo.com/dojos/drogheda/ which is run by volunteers, so quite possible they would be interested in this topic too. You might also want to check out hackerspaces.org or the TOG mailing list to see if there is further interest in Drogheda area. (I can query this if you like)
