Looking for refund from internet eu purchase advice

I recently made a purchase from a UK company (well their website was .co.uk) but their head office and payment office is in Germany. I'm returning the items I got as they're faulty (which I've informed the company of already via email).

On the 'returns form' which the company provided in the parcel, while it says they will return the money in the same method through which the purchase was made BUT on the 'refund' section of the form they have asked that for the refund to made by them I must provide the name of the account holder, the account number and sort code, IBAN and BIC number of the provided credit card.

I made my purchase via credit card, the usual online purchase method.

My question is can the company refund the money onto my credit card (as most companies do) given they are an international based company or do they need the above required information as the payment is being made from Germany to Ireland??

Are they just trying to scam me????
Help please, I'm really worried :(:(:(

IBAN, BIC, sort codes, etc have nothing to do with credit cards, or refunds to the card. All they need is to reverse the transaction. There is no need to give them any other bank details, and they have no business requesting them.

Don't know why there are asking for this, unless their intention is to refund through bank transfer.
