I was hoping someone would be able to help me.

Please accept my apologies if this has been answered previously but i cant seem to find what im looking for.

I had to defer my final year in college due to a lack of funds, i am currently on social welfare and have been out of work since christmas, however even before this i was only working part time so was still claiming jobseekers allowance for the days i wasnt working.

now i am trying to find out about my options for september coming, am i right in thinking i cant claim for btea for my final year as i should apply in first year only?

if not, i there any other means to help pay even the registration fee? any guidance would be much appreciated, to be honest i am in two minds about going back as i cant really afford it, but i had been doing very well in my course and was on track to get a good honours degree, and a condition of my deferral was that i would have to sit the year in 2011/2012.

well if you were on social welfare you will be intitled to btea but why wernt you getting it anyway? in first year?
im not 100% sure but i dont think it matters about when you got it and when you didnt, i think they give it to you (if you qualify) for just 2 years
and your entitled to have your college fees paid for also, you apply to your local vec on a grant application form, you wont get a grant but you may get your fees paid for
if you dont apply you wont get anything :)
