    RTÉ One, Two, TV3, TG4 and 3e are all on Sky

    Sky will only be missing out on RTÉ News Now, RTÉ Two HD, RTÉ One +1 and RTÉ Junior

    Yes, but you dont need to subscribe to Sky to see them.

    Saor = Free.

    A lot of stations are free with the suitable equipment and dont involve giving your money over to Murdoch et al.

    Hi lads sorry to go off topic but I got one of these boxes last year. It's similar to a saorview box. I'm picking up all the English and Irish channels but only problem is my Irish channels I have no picture but have sound. Any ideas why?

    Found this post in the Terresterial FAQ section.
    In short SD UK freeview channels only require MPEG-2 STB - Not up to standard for irish DTT channels. To receive picture on Irish channels you need an HD MPEG-4 STB. Best keep an eye out a for Saorview certified STB to be sure.

    Hi I was just reading this forum and I have a quick question. I have read somewhere that English HD Freesat boxes are HD MPEG-4 STB, is this true? Will I be able to pick up saorview on an English HD box or will I have to buy a separate box?

    Separate receiver.

    Saorview requires a terrestrial receiver connected to an aerial, freesat requires a satellite receiver connected to a dish.

    Tesco UK do a couple of Freeview HD boxes with their own brand Tecknica.

    These work perfectly with Saorview.

    Bought two a couple of weeks ago in Banbridge £25 each.

    Did you have to tune in the Saorview channels or did the box pick them up automatically during the set up?

    No everything works automatically.

    Channels are numbered from 800 RTE1
