Has anyone had a problem with the clutch on a Fiat Punto Diesel. The car is less than 3 year old with 28,000 km.You have to go to the floor with the pedal but still it grinds the gears before engaging. It is not releasing the clutch enough. There are no leaks in the pipes or servo. Any suggestions

I have car from 5000km and the pedal had to go to floor from even then but had no grind and easy into gear. Checked slave seems ok

Again, I take it that there's adequate fluid in the thing. Have you tried bleeding it?

Does the pedal come up to the top of its travel when you let out the clutch?

Maybe it has a 'pull' type clutch like many alfas had. This is when the clutch bearing pulls the clutch springs instead of pushing them like many cars. I know in the alfas, issues with that type setup often resulted in a very low biting point and required a new clutch kit to cure.
