    My situation ;
    23 years of age.
    Working up until Feb 2010.
    Signed onto Jobseeker benifit (the dole) feb 2010-may 2010 (€100/week).
    Resumed work may 2010 - march 2011 (part time work).

    Started a first year college course in sep 2010 and I also recieved a grant for the year of which my last grant payment is this week.

    I am not going to continue with the course so will not be attending college next september.

    My question is, does anyone think I will have any problems trying to sign onto Jobseekers benifit (the dole) next week ?

    Thanks.

    I'm just a bit worried because Im not sure if I am entitled to it with my situation. Cheers

    Ok if you are applying in 2011 its your contributions in 2009 that come into play. Were you working in 2009? You will also need to get a letter from your college stating that you will not be returning to college. A bit more info would be helpful.

    You will also need to get a letter from your college stating that you will not be returning to college. I will try get that letter asap so from my college.

    Has anyone ever been in this situation before

    If you are not continuing in college and have the necessary contributions you will be entitled to Jobseekers Benefit once you are actively seeking work. On a side note its a pity you are dropping out of college... did the course not suit you or was is because of financial problems.

    I had to leave. I just found out recently that I have parkinsons and electronic engineering is no longer a viable career path for myself.

    Ok you have Parkinsons... very young to have it... I presume you are still able to work and if this is the case you can apply for JSB... if not you can apply for Illness Benefit.

    I hope you can master this Parkinsons and not let it get the better of you.
