Employment Medical Check - Advice Please??

    I'm starting an internship (4 months) in research this summer, I've been offered the position and arrangements have been made. I was curious as to whether a Medical Check is likely before the internship starts. There has been no mention of one yet, but neither has there been a contract agreement. Would I have already been advised if there was going to be a Medical Check if it was necessary for employment?

    Any advice would be appreciated!

    Given that its an internship only I would think a medical is an unnescessary expense for the employer unless you were to be working in a particular field that entails special risks ?

    It's in biology lab work so I dont know if that qualifies as a field where a medical would be mandatory or not. Anyone any ideas?

    I highly doubt a 4 month internship would require a medical.
