Mizuno Wave Precision 11 stockists

Anyone aware of any retailers in the Dublin area selling the Mizuno Wave Precision 11 shoe.

I used to love wave riders until 14 came along. I want to try them on for fit as I like to have a lot of room in the toe-box which the Rider 13's had but the 14's don't. Anyway all help appreciated.

I'd say your best bet is to ring the ususal suspects as its now Precision 12 and most of the older stock will have been moved on.

Mizuno tweaked their toe box in the current series of shoes, so may be same with Precision. They lowered the height of the box, widened it and realigned the toes to a more natural position rather than big toe at the pointy bit it should now sit more to the side, takes the pressure of the little toes aparently.

I took a leap of faith and picked up a pair from Wiggle, having previously run in(and loved) the Precision 10s. The fit is the same as the Precision 10s and far more room in the toe-box than the Mizuno 14s. Great shoe. I think Amphibian King is a stockist.

Gottarun: I think the current model is still the Precision 11.

Thanks lads, the 11 was the latest model I could find. Glad to hear your opinion KC as I dont like the rider 14's.

The 11 is being replaced in July by the 12. There are very limited stocks available on the shelves and very little in sizes available from Mizuno.

I've half moved over to the precision too, it's closer to the rider from a couple of years back than the current rider is imo. Although I'm not sure they last as long.

Thanks for that Krusty. Is the precision 11 a similar feel to the WR13? I loved these and hate my WR 14s.

Yeah, as copacetic suggested, I reckon they're closer to the waveriders of a couple of years ago (12s and 13s). I ran with these in a 56k race recently (which probably wasn't my brightest move) a flat half marathon a couple of weeks back, and today on leg7 of the WW relay, and they handled each type of event just fine.

When amphkingwest mentioned that they're being deprecated, I bought another pair on the spot from wiggle. A light, comfortable, well-fitting pair of shoes that'll take 500+ miles for €78 is a great price (Sorry amphkingwest! I do buy all my shoes from your shops when changing brands or models!).

Supposedly the precision 12 won't be too big a change.
There is a mizuno rep on the running world US forum who gives good info, thread here

    http://www.runnersworld.com/community/forums/shoes-stuff/shoes/mizuno-shoe-guy-will-answer-mizuno-questions/.104

    Eg
I would certainly dispute that the WR 14s are 'clumsy'. Nevertheless, yes the Wave Precision is an excellent alternative. It's lighter, cushier and has a quicker heel-to-toe transition than the Wave Rider. Many runners who have not been wild about the WR 14 have transistioned easily enough into the Precision. It has a cushier feel

    And
The new Precision 12 will be out in early July. The midsole and outsole is the same; the upper has been tweaked a little. Not much. New colors of the Ronin won't be out until January. There are no immediate*plans to release the Aero in the US.

Anyone got a nice longer/slower run shoe to go with the precision? Have a spare pare of precisions too, but my last pair of rider 12s is on the way out.

Prophecy seems like an over the top shoe, Creation might be the one, but there is a new shoe on the way the enigma
An entirely new model from Mizuno, the Wave Enigma slots between the Wave*Rider and the Wave Creation for the runner seeking maximum comfort and plush*cushioning in a neutral maximum feature trainer. The midsole of the Wave*Enigma features a softer AP+ Midsole and a blown rubber outsole that allows*for a plusher ride than any of the current models from Mizuno. Adding to*the experience is a soft synthetic upper and stretch mesh that enhances the*great fit Mizuno is known for

Sounds interesting, not impressed with colour way though

Any ideas/opinions? ( not interested in moving from mizuno, been everywhere else shoe wise)

Does all that cushioning and 'plushness' come at a price (weight?). I kind of liked that the waverider (while being a longer distance training shoe) was very light. If the enigma is light (and cheap!) I'd consider giving it a go, as I reckon the precisions on their own will eventually begin to hurt.

*Edit*: The enigma is 12.4oz to the Waverider 14's 10.5oz.

A fair bit heavier, but possibly not too noticeable if the ride is 'plusher' I guess.
Rider 15 is due out in Nov/Dec, maybe they'll backtrack a little on the changes.

Some detail on early proto of the 15 toward the end of the below and some confirmation of discussion above re the precision 11.

I bought the WR 14's a few weeks ago and I'm not a fan (and a quick internet search confirms I am not alone).

They seem to ride very high on the ankle bone and they feel clunky. It's a pity as I was a big fan of the 13's.

    Have ordered Precision 11's.

Appears there will definitely be a step back to older fit in the 15s. From mizuno rep linked above on runners world forum

    http://www.runnersworld.com/community/forums/shoes-stuff/shoes/mizuno-shoe-guy-did-wave-riders
Yes, there were some fit changes made to the WR 14 and, to be perfectly candid, not all of the changes have been warmly received. Some liked it; some did not. Obviously, you are in the latter. Still, I doubt those fit changes could be the cause of your PF and hamstring. Most of the changes occured in the fit of the heel. Nevertheless, I'm sorry for your issues. The WR 15s? Yes, we will have a special*anniversary edition (15th year) coming out in November and then the 'regular' WR 15 will be out in December. We sped up our usual development process on the 15 and went back to original fit and feel. Our wear testing has been overwhelmingly positive so I think (hope?) you'll like it.*
