Coming from the pc world I can not get used to using the ps3 controller in Black Ops (dont mind it so much in Fallout 3) but I miss the mouse/keyboard combo.

Does anyone have experience with the SplitFish FragFX v.2 controller/mouse?

    Any recommendations for similar setup?

The splitfish controllers are horrible, i bought the FragFX v.2 (not the wireless one) and its just useless, it just don't work very well. Going from side to side is grand but quick movements or going diagonal is a mess.

I was in the exact same boat as you this time last year, coming from being a beast on PC to getting owned by console newbs is not fun, took me a good few months to get anyway decent and im only getting really good since black ops. Stick with the dualshock and it'll come to you eventually, can be frustrating and i do still wish i could plug in the ole keyboard and mouse but sure if that was possible it wouldn't be fun anymore because i'd be unstoppable !

And make sure you play with mates, nothing mroe frustrating than losing all the time.

The one thing that pisses me off with shooters, has got to be the melee button.. I mean come on how many times have I been shooting at someone and accidently melee'in mid air :(.. It's happening in Crysis 2 now.. Not sure if I could just change controls or not  but it gets on my nerves!..

It won't work for Black ops but on Killzone 3 the sharp shooter with the Move controller is even better than a mouse.

haha, this is true.... BUT i have proof !

Do you really think you could move and aim like the people in that video using a move remote ? :D

In fairness... i don't think there will ever be a method of control in an FPS game as good as a mouse... short of implementing some sort of direct link to the brain !!

I feel it's at least AS good.

If you have the time to practice with it every day, and get your movement down, even better, because aiming is sweet.

Its Quake:Live, more or less just an updated Q3. Its a free browser game these days.

Greyditch... your just trolling now ;) I've played killzone with a move remote... its about ten times worse than the normal PS3 remote.. Your probably just not very good on PC and using some useless roller ball mouse.

The moving i can't compare because ive only used it on slower shooters where i can't run and jump at that ridiculous pace. but i can't see why moving a stick left or right would be any different from pressing a button left or right.

In terms of aiming with a mouse you still have to move the cross hair to the target whereas with the sharp shooter you just see the target and aim down the gun sight at it. Its a fraction in the difference but its far more rewarding and thus better.

Yeah, holding the Move... putting it into a Sharpshooter. Chalk. Cheese.

Theres a number of reasons why the current motion controllers are nowhere near as accurate as a mouse.

I've watched gameplays of people using the sharp shooter... (I've only tried it on the normal move) and its just all over the place, its not steady and smooth like you get with a mouse, it shakes and bobbles about. with a mouse you just dont get that because its resting firmly on the table.

Speed is also a major factor, i dont care how fast you are with that gun thing... it will neeeevvverr be as fast as a good player using a mouse. It is simply a twitch with my wrist for a 180 turn with almost pin point accuracy. Which also brings about how slow you turn using the move... its painfully slow. You can't just swing around as if you had a 360 degree TV.

I think you guys are just inexperienced when it comes to PC gaming because the potiential accuracy and speed you can have with a FPS using a keyboard and mouse is probably better than you could get with a real gun... no bullsh1t.

For me the novelity factor of the wii/move etc doesn't last very long.

I don't doubt some players are more faster/accurate with a mouse but nothing comes close to having a machine gun in your hand to blast at the screen.

The shake can be adjusted in the game settings as well as the turning.

Hey dude, i used to be a PC gamer also and found it hard to get used to the controller, eventually got used to it for FPS games and came across a Frag FX Shark on adverts and got it for under 50e, they retail for close to 100e on amazon but are worth it.
wireless, very accurate and very smooth, i know all the predecessors like the v2 etc had staircasing issues and were just crap overall. this model is the first in the series that feels like pc gaming, batteries last for a very long time too which is great :)
works very well with COD games, i use it mostly for BFBC2
    strongly recommend one TBH

p.s. here are a few reviews and it is only 69 pounds with free delivery

I hear ya. Really humiliating to see myself on killcam slicing thin air like a lunatic when I really should be shooting.
I tried the 'tactical' button layout tonight on black ops where the R3 is crouch/prone, feels a bit more logical somehow but will take some getting used to.

Excellent! Although not sure what staircasing is I'll definitely have a look at that one.
