Slane Tickets on eBay

Hi guys, hope it's okay to post here. I put in a bid on E-bay for E-tickets for Slane. I'm starting to think it was a stupid idea. Surely they can resell and e-mail these to as many people as they like? Anyone any experience with this? Is it safe enough? The tickets are a good bit below asking price.

Already the alarm bells are ringing - below selling price? At a concert that will sell out if it has not done already? Hmmmmm.... AVOID. If you absolutely must go through these channels use the ads section in your local newspaper (e.g. the Echo in Cork would have a weekly ads section where tickets etc. on sale), or else use Adverts.ie from a trusted seller or one you can meet in person. Do not use Ebay for this, particularly when it has hallmarks of a scam. Do not use the website mentioned in this thread either unless you are happy the conditions  You should also check whether these tickets are only good to the card holder/original purchaser e.g. some tickets can only be used by showing ID at the venue that matches name on ticket.

Yes they can. You won't know whether they did this or not until you turn up and get turned away, unless you're the lucky first one to turn up.

If it's an auction, then they'll start low, and the price will build up until the auction ends. A low starting price is how you get people in on the bidding. It doesn't mean they will sell for a low price.

Whether it's safe or not depends on how much you trust the seller. Personally, I wouldn't buy e-tickets off anyone I didn't know, because like you say, they can be sold as many times as you like.

Another thing to watch, is that with most tickets bought online, you will only be admitted with the credit card used for the pirchase, ie the "seller's" card.

Also - as these are e-tickets not tangible tickets that are posted, its worth noting that you wont win a claim with ebay or paypal in the event of non delivery or the tickets not resulting in access to the premises on the day.
