    Hi all,

I have had an intermittent issue over the past two weeks or so. I am using a Linksys SPA3102 VoIP router. Now and again, when making calls, i get no ringback but the other end has been ringing and answered the call and got nothing whatsoever on the line. At times, I have then re-dialed immediately again, got my standard ringback and got answered as normal.

Yes,my call credit suddenly droped to zero. There's no support desk or number and they don't reply to queries or emails.

Very disappointed and at least blueface reply to queries!

Have you ever tried contacting them, this puts me off automatically that some person just setup a domain and a dellmount reseller account to make money and no customer service....

What's more is that there is a limit of 300 minutes a week (And somehow I don't use 300 a month and I get charged) complete bull.

I still prefer using blueface at any stage!

I have to say, it an excellent service for what I pay and I have no real complaints. I know when I subscribed exactly what I was buying - that you can forget it if you need to contact them so yes, you get what you pay for. For me, the savings far outweigh the negatives. This is the first issue that I have had in 6 months and it's been an inconvenience, that's all.

It's very simple really - I can still dial out over UPC if I need to so I don't exactly have all my eggs in one basket. So would I recommend going the Betamax route to anyone - absolutely. Have Blueface as your second option but I challenge anyone to justify the pricing of Blueface over Rynga.

Okay, I absolute agree on the pricing. Have you checked your sip username is ryngausernameyouhave, your sip password ia your rynga acc password and your sip address is sip.rynga.com?
Is there anyway that upc, firewall or internet blocking device is not allowing rynga?

It's only one call in 10 or so that I seem to have a problem with. I can't find any pattern, especially if I can have a failure one minute and success immediately afterwards.

Haven't noticed anything untoward ... but only use the betamax companies (I use vopigain and intervoip) for calls to irish mobiles only.

Or international when I still have freedays.

International when out of freedays, or for irish landlines, all through blueface.

Are you guys for real? Have you read the posts from two years ago to today?

Betamax is fine...except when you depend on a call going through.

You pay crap money, you get crap in return.

Don't tell me you want a free lunch.

Sounds like you need to get your Broadbank service checked or else your VoIP equipment. You'll do well to find someone to agree with you I think. Of course, we all know that it wont be our sole source of making phonecalls - I have UPC as backup in case of issues.

hmm...idk, i know that they are very cheeky when they drain your credit though?! The broadband equipment shouldn't effect it, but use a softphone and test it there just to make sure?

I use Rynga which simply charges per minute. There is NO call setup charge.

I can go online and see a detailed call list at any point, seeing my free calls and chargable ones. I can verify where all my credit goes at any time and it's 100% accurate.

Yes, but remember Rynga charge per minute as their connection fee (so if you spend 1 minute and 1 second your charged for two minutes).

With Goldfish and blueface (I think) you are charged a minimum of 2 cent connection fee, so if you call 087 off peak at 12cent a minute, the minimum for thirty seconds is 6 cent and then charged at a second.

Don't forget to include vat and transaction charges.

After all my research, bf and rynga are around the same at average.

The point I think you were originally making was that they were in some way being sneaky by sucking up your credit without your knowledge - "very cheeky when they drain your credit though". I know exactly what I signed up for and am very happy that I can account for every second of my credit. I know I could use a stopwatch so that I don't go over the minute but I couldn't be arsed, another €0.07c won't kill me. The great thing about Rynga is that you don't have to pay a subscription or anything like that. Loading credit gives me the free landline calls for 120 days all over the place and I then have the full use of this credit against chargable calls.

So given the listing of calls above, it cost me the sum total of €0.35c with NO additional fees like a subscription. I see Blueface Freedom Basic costs €9.99 per month so you PAY for FREE calls - great deal eh ?

So would anyone like to cost the above list of calls with other providers ?
