After an amazing Sun Ra party in the Grand Social with Mike Huckaby, Amen Brother is back in it's rightful home, Odessa, for another night of noise from yesteryear.

This month we're joined by the Galactic Beat Club crew, Ro Flynn & Russell Parker for a night of deep groovy disco and house.

Support comes form Amen Bro's deep house dynamo, Dave O'Reilly.

Lots of cheap drink offers as per usual and we'll also be raffling off a few tickets for Forbidden Fruit which is on the same weekend. Tickets are the princely sum of 2 euro so it's worth a shot.

    Amen Brother (12 Sundays)

It can be argued that The Bernard Shaw is just like going to church. They provide tastier food, have a better selection of booze and I'm guessing there have been some very colorful confessions spilled there. This Sunday, Monaghan maestros Amen Brother will be guest spotting at 12. Amen Brother aka Niall Kirk and Pete Cadden are also responsible for The MN to That website (which stands for Monaghan; word play hi-five) and for some celestial blow outs about the city. They are the perfect ministers of mayhem to deliver a good ole rollicking. While there will be no loaves or fishes do expect a hymn sheet of disco, soul, hip hop and funk. Whatever your conviction it’s the perfect way to round off your Sunday…day of rest my eye! / Rachel Hegarty

We’re very happy to welcome Paddy O’Halpin aka Handsome Paddy to Odessa for a night of breaks in all shapes and sizes.
Paddy is part of the Choice Cuts crew who we’ve followed from their early RiRa days. If you haven’t checked their site out, do it now.

We had the pleasure of catching Paddy at an impromptu houseparty recently and we can confirm he’s ability to glide through genres like butter is up there with the very best.

Check out his Kick Out The Jams Mix as proof of that.

August's Amen Brother is going to be so good that it's been bumped forward a week into July!!

    ie-0729-274047-front.jpg

We're joined in Odessa by local legend Billy Scurry who has been wowing us for years.

Support of the night comes from AB's Niall Kirk and Dave O'Reilly who will be belting our some slow disco grooves.

    FROM CHOICE CUTS...
Over the past 20 years Billy Scurry has become synonymous with the club and DJ scene in Ireland. Cited by many as the pioneer who brought real dance music to Ireland in the early to mid 90s, Billy’s roots are as much in Soul, Funk and HipHop as they are in Techno, House and Disco.

This juxtaposition of styles quickly propelled him to being the DJ of choice for promoters around the country. Legendary residencies in The Temple of Sound, Sides, The Kitchen and The Ormond during the 1990s along with international gigs worldwide have seen Billy constantly develop his soulful sound.

Admission is FREE and the usual drinks promos apply!

    More TBC
