Find someone trustworthy to help you.

Without actually knowing what you're talking about I'm not sure what else anyone here could recommend. Any hints?

(Also, bear in mind that very often ideas have already been explored by someone else)

I think the best thing to do is ask somebody is it plausible.

Bit more information and we might be able to give better help.

Say is it physics/engineering related? Or chemistry-related?

The best places to search has the idea been done before will vary on what sort of thing your idea is about.

Are you willing to study your study matter yourself?

    Hello Digme,
We need more information, please advise.

Are we talking about something conceptual or physical?

Are you looking to invent some thing or are you developing an equation, concept, or theory?

Generally speaking, you don't. There is a reason most scientists these days have a large amount of training behind them.

However, ask someone and read up as much about the it yourself as you can is the best bet.
