I bought a set of car mats for my 08 mondeo.
The drivers side mat comes with 2 screw like things but I can't see where these screw into to secure the mat.
There is 2 cut outs in the carpet where I think a plastic strip comes from and the 2 screws go into them but I don't have these plastic strips.
Are they removable from the car?

Anybody with a Mk4 mondeo care to have a look.

    Thanks

The plastic tabs come with the mat set. They go through the gap in the carpet, twist, and then the mat clips on to the other end of the plastic bit.

    Kind of hard to explain......:o

    +1

It's like a screw and a washer set up. They come in the pack (at least with the OWM Ford ones that I got recently).

There is no hole on the floor for the screws to twist into. Do I just make them myself?
There is a little square cut out just in front of the drivers seat I thought that was something to do with the mat

You should have two of these:

The left side clips in to the mat, the right side goes through the gap in the carpet under the drivers seat and connects there.

The big screw just screws into the pile of the carpet.. make sure you get the position correct!

All cars seem to use this system nowdays. I think it is law that the driver's mat must be secured.
