iphone 4 and wifi

    Hi
    If I use my iphone 4 to connect to my work wifi can they trace who's been using it ,is it just the mac address that shows up or the phones name or number

    It'll only be MAC address technically, but if they're proxying traffic or anything like that, your web traffic will show up identifying information in the sites that you're visiting as well as mail and facebook apps doing push notifications.
    It might also possibly identify itself by name to the network, such as "Macker's iPhone" (or whatever you call it in iTunes), but that's not something I've checked.

    thanks , not bothered about the web traffic I'll just be browsing safe sites and MSN yahoo etc ,the Mackers iphone bit does bother me ,

    Thanks ,so if I name my phone something not connected to me they won't be able to tell is that correct

    It will give the name of your device, whatever you have named your device they can trace it in the list of MACs on the router

    I'm trying to connect wifi, havign a bit of an issue.
    I'm pretty sure I have the right WEP key but won't conect.

    It's there any way to find out for sure what the key is. Can't find having trouble finding the router on the network (i'm not looking for way to do s via iphone, i have desktop access to network)

    Could it be that iphone/ipod/mobile devices are blocked? It's a small place and wouldn't be the most high tech set up afaik

    Well, just read that iPad wifi can be turn to 3G in iFunia iPad column, wonder how the iPhone 4 and wifi works?
