    Hi all.
First and formost I'm on bill pay (phone) with Meteor and get a 1gb data allowance each month along with my minutes.
I've also got a redundant Meteor pay as you go broadband dongle lying around (huawei E180).
I was just wondering if I put my sim card from my phone into the dongle, can I use up some of my data allowance via my laptop?

    Thanks

Not sure about swapping sim cards, but if you tether your phone to your laptop you can use it that way... I've done it many times like that through an app, but a usb connection would most likely also work, sure give it a whirl it may work out by a straight swap

Yeah thanks but as far as I know when you do that, it'll charged out your bundle.
I specifically wanted to use the dongle.

If you put the SIM in a modem, then it will be just like tethering your phone. This may be charged differently than the inclusive data that comes with the phone plan.

Mobile phone data and Mobile broadband are generally kept separate, because you are more likely to use the data if you are connected to a computer than if you just use the phone.

You could try it on a small download, then check your account to see if it was charged or not. Then you'd know for sure.
