Thanks for that. As someone who is is extremelly distrustful of anything that comes from Europe, I can say he does raise a few points. However, as is often the case in these videos, he paints the Irish as happless when the reality is that our misfortune is the result of our dreadfully corrupt and incompentent society that is rotten to the core.

IT would be nice to have a proper state for this island with a honourable and powerful man at the helm but, as he says in the video; good luck with that.

I second the above poster. OP, you need to comment on the video to avoid having the thread locked by a certain, very pro-european moderator.

There is really nothing to add.Except thats what other people in Europe were trying to tell the Irish, when they were shouting dont vote Lisbon. They were warned those who voted.
This man tells it as it is,and i have been trying to say.Thank him for speaking so intelligently what i wanted to say all along.

I'm not sure why you feel you'd be banned if you comment on the video, but as people have said, you really do need to include a basic summary of the video for those who won't or can't watch it - and indeed for those who do as well.

One of the major reasons we require that is because video as a medium is rarely if ever more informative than text - instead, it's an excellent propaganda tool, because logical leaps, begged questions, and assertions without evidence can all be glossed over with a sufficiently authoritative tone of voice, and are harder to spot than in text because it's very very much harder to review what has been said in a holistically critical way.

In this case, the presenter appears to be putting forward the standard eurosceptical case that the euro and the EU is the source of all our problems. That's been covered extensively and repeatedly here, and I'm not sure what this video adds to the debate that's new, as opposed to presenting the arguments in a one-way medium suitable for propaganda.

As such, closed on the usual video-only OP basis - I've presented my reasoning here, and counter-arguments are welcome by PM.

    moderately,
    Scofflaw
