Not sure if this is the correct place to post but yesterday I recieved a letter from a Doctor I am currently attending for medical treatment.......however after reading the letter I realized it was sent to me by accident and was actually meant for the consultant who I am also attending :o
Should I just forward letter to consultant without saying anything or put in a note to let him know I recieved it accidently?

Mods feel free to move to PI if this is the incorrect forum to post :)

Call your doctor and let him/her know.

    Is this the best option?

As long as the correct doctor gets the letter, it's okay. It would be polite to mention you got it first though.

I would prefer just to forward it on with a note. Thanks :)

Just ring the secretary of the doctor who sent it and tell her what happened they are probably the one who typed and sent it to you in mistake in the first place, and she can then forward it on to the other consultant.

I saw a consultant before who always "cc"ed me the letters he sent to my GP. Maybe it's the same (but in reverse?!) But to be sure, I'd probably forward it on with a really short note
