    Better/HD version of that uploaded.

I'm bloody impressed. Already pondering about what PC bits to upgrade.

Don't think it looks a whole lot different to Arma 2. No doubt it will be plagued by bugs.and never be truly patched before they release addons and then start on arma 4. The buildings still awful.

What you talking about? I guess you never played Arma 2 or Arrowhead, they run very well. But if you're trying to play on the same pc you were playing Arma on you're going to have problems, they need a modern pc, preferably a quadcore with a decent gpu. The new one I'm planning on building a new pc for.

I think it looks pretty amazing, wtf are you looking for? There are not many games look this good. The reason it looks so much like Arma 2 is that its not really made yet and not out till next summer. Its an updated version of the same engine with DirectX 11 effects, underwater physics, physX and helicopter dynamics (from their other game TakeOnHelicopters), etc. You can spot these effects in the trailer, much better than they were in Arma 2.

    Two questions,

Why feature the now 5 years ago cancelled RAH-66?

What variant of the Mi-28 has a co-axial rotor disc?

ARMA always features real in use/issue stuff. The mods add the fantasy/fiction experimental. Just hope my PC can run this with the 2nd gen i5 and 6870 2gb card. Only built it last month.

Arma 3 is set in the future, hence the weaponry and aircraft will be based on prototypes and some may even be "makey uppy" futuristic stuff. There's lots of guessing on their forum, but nobody knows for sure yet.

I have played every title since op Flashpoint when it was published by Codies. What I'm talking about is the fact that BI release these games while full of bugs. Patch after patch comes and yet more problems arise. I realise the complexities given the sandbox nature of the game, but I'm getting weary of half finished products. I'm a huge fan of the series and used to even pay for a server so the clan I was in could have private squad games. I love them.

    I have a modern PC. Quad core i5 750. 4gb ddr3 ram, ati 4870x2, 23" Samsung led, 3 TB, and all.conceivable gadgets and.gizmos.

Anyway, I don't want this turning into a debate about how good or bad the game is, as I've said, I love the games and I salivate usually over new screenies. I only responded as I didn't like the manner in which you made your point.

What new problems? I've seen patch after patch massively improve Arma and Arma 2 and the new optimisations in Arrowhead were ported back into Arma 2.

BIS are a tiny developer (I read somewhere only 20 employees) in a world where most developers are abandoning the PC for consoles. Developing a game for PC only gives a massive variety of hardware, therefore its a given that there will be bugs in new games, you just cannot account for every hardware situation. Making a game for a single hardware configuration like a console is much easier (and safer).
There's guaranteed to be bugs in the new one, but BIS have the reputation to stick with it and iron them out even if it takes 2 or 3 years and an expansion pack, (unlike other hit and run developers). The original Arma 2 cost me €20 on day 1, I reckon I got 900 hours out of it, I didn't hesitate to buy Arrowhead or the dlc packs as I wanted to support them for supporting their game and us PC gamers. I'll buy the new one on day 1 too (will most likely pre-order from Sprocket so they get all the cash), even with the bugs.

Yep, don't you have some generic console shooter reskin to play, this is the Arma forum.

I don't see any other devs supporting their games or PC gaming for that matter, €20 for that much entertainment is amazing value

Yeah, DEFINITELY! : Operation Flashpoint : Dragon Rising.:p
    (I jest, I jest)

The thing about Arma is that it's not just €20, it's usually a new pc! Still though assuming worse case scenario and your brick your PC, Arma works out at 100 times the retail price. Even then, it's still amazing value in my eyes. :D I've already begun budgeting for the next upgrades. The only thing Arma is really missing in my eyes is fluid CQB. The interface is still a little bit too quirky for cqb. It's kinda sad when you have to go back to Ravenshield to get some top quality cqb gaming. Please Bohemia make it happen someday.

Oh, and I kinda share your love for BIS.:)

Wrong, it's an excuse to build a new pc, I'm looking forward to that also.

The ragdolls are a very welcome addition. Clouds look great too. I wonder will there finally be rivers?

I doubt it, the reason they're left out is that it requires bridges, the AI get confused when they encounter a bridge.

Or a wall, or sometimes a flat piece of unobstructed open ground. The last time I played ARMA 2 I spent 20 minutes trying to get one soldier to get in the car he was standing beside. I had to slowly back away from the computer and scream into a pillow.

I will most certainly buy this game and almost certainly never have enough time to dedicate to it but I'll support the ARMA series regardless, love that game even if it is slightly over my head.

I'm running benchmarks on 3 PCs currently: a 350 euro one, a 600 euro on and an 800 euro one. I've done benchmarks on the last 2. Both run great at high settings at 60fps most of the time. The 350 euro one will be a challenge though, running that tonight.

Yes, it would. But I'm not sure about some of those components. My best advice is to follow cherryghost's advice and create a new thread in the PC Building forum. :)
