I'm heading out myself on the 10th for a wedding the day after, sorry I've no info to add as we're going to wing it when we get there. Enjoy

depends on where you are staying, the only place i know of on the island to go clubbing/bars is st julians about 10 miles from valletta, as for dresscode it pretty much standard to what you would wear to the bars in the canaries

maltas got some nice scenery but unless you have a car its quite hard to get around as public transport on the island is incredibly slow in old buses, you can try to make it to gozo, we never got the chance but it supposed to be really nice

i found malta really cheap, in valetta there are places where you can get 2 dinners for like €5-6

Be sure to see Mġarr and it's fascinating and historical church. Also, Mosta Dome. And, of course, Mdina (the silent city). And the Mdina dungeons. Gozo also, is worth a visit. There's loads to see and do in Malta. Second home of the British you know.

Just back from Malta. Went for a wedding which was very well run and fun. It rained for one and a half days out of six. We were told that this was unusual. I loved Valletta with its bastions and churches. The weather was about 25 degrees in the daytime which suited me. We went on two open top bus tours and nearly had our heads blown off on the northern trip (the prevailing wind comes from the north. It was a very enjoyable trip and I would return. Paceville in Saint Julian's is full of nightclubs and young people. I am an old fogey so it would not be my cup of tea.

They have lots of buses like this. They are supposed to be getting rid of them and have appointed a Spanish company to take over. Some of the old buses are great but many are death traps!

    I prefer the older ones:

My Dad prefers the even older ones:

Nicer when they were green though:

Roughly 15 - 20 years ago the Maltese government decided that the green buses were unsafe, and so the decision was made to make them safer. So they painted them yellow with an orange stripe. This makes them safer as the buses can be seen more easily in the dark, compared with when they were green. They continue to run on half paraffin, half old engine oil.

    This one wasn't painted yellow!
