They seem to be hard to come by. Over 90 views and only one reply says it all. I would even consider getting someone to order one new if there is anyone out there willing to do it.

your other option is to order a new one marlin still do em as well as Mossberg a new mossberg should only retail for abou 600eu going by US prices...but if you want pure quality wait for the winchester or marlin
you might try mick duggan in killarney as i know he stocks some 30/30 rounds;)

Look it can be done. If you want the rifle then the first thing is to phone up that dealer in the UK that is selling it.

I'm just now in the process of buying a rifle from a private seller, not a dealer, in the UK. It was for sale on one of the UK forums and it was easy to sort out. I got the seller to put his rifle into a dealer who would deal with an Irish dealer or sent it to a dealer in the north. Anyway between them all they sorted out the import export between them. Of course I paid for all the costs but it's not that expensive to do

Thanks to all who replied and aided my search. I'm now importing a beautiful, mint condition pre '64 Winchester 1894 in 30/30.
It was a bit pricier than a post '64 equivalent but I'm glad I went the extra mile. The fit and finish is far superior on the older models.

I'll post a few pictures and a bit of a review when I have the license finalized.

Sounds great, looking forward to it. I know I can't justify it to local law enforcement, but I really want a Marlin Guide Gun in .45-70 for a fun gun. Sometime in the future perhaps.

Well, I got the grant letter in the post and will be collecting the rifle, along with my new Beretta 87 T, next weekend.

Watch this space! I will put up a few pics and a review as soon as I get out with it. Hopefully I'll get to do a bit of stalking with it soon.

Ammo proved to be a bit elusive, but thankfully another RFD who is a friend of mine has some 150 gr Remington for me.

Thanks again for all the help lads.
