present for the missus, but my knowledge of android phones is next to nothing...

Ive an Iphone myself and she loves to be able to check facebook/twitter/news/angry birds, so it has to have 3G and WIFI.

Budget is 250ish, she's on meteor pay as you go, the best they seem to have on their site is - Samsung Wave 723(199e) or the HTC Wildfire(229e)

Carphone warehouse have the HTC Wildfire S(229) which I gather is just an upgraded Wildfire with a nicer screen resolution or the Samsung Galaxy Ace(269e)

Can anyone please shed some light on what might best suit?

"So O'bama didn't rock a green tie. We're taking €20 off Android phones tomorrow anyway. We were reliably informed he has green boxers on ;)"

    At least they're honouring it!

At €230, little doubt that the Galaxy Ace is the best choice

HTC Wildfire is your best bet.

Lightweight, reliable, only €180 and has everything you could possibly want.

Only downside is the battery life but that probably applies to all androids!!

Thanks for posting this, I wouldnt have remembered they do next day delivery if you order before 12, order placed, thanks Zonda!

€180 in Currys. I have not used a Wildfire S so I can't comment on it.... for the idiot in me by porting do you mean upgrading from one model to another? Kinda like an exchange?
