I have 2 missing back tooth in the upper jaw, and I am looking to have tooth implants done soon
The info I found in the dentist web pages are some of them confusing and they don't provide the exact fees , finance plans or the tooth implants procedures.
does anyone knows where to find a " Value" Dentist for tooth implants in Ireland or in the North? and that has finance in place?
    thank you in advance

Implant dentistry is more complex than many would like you to believe, its a once off surgical procedure that is difficult to correct if done poorly. Words like cheap and OK should not come next nor near this topic. There is however some good value out there. Value is a combination of quality, service and cost. Expect to pay between 1900 - 5000 per tooth depending on your case, need for bone graft etc. Concentrate on who is doing the procedure. Do you have confidence in them and their experience and qualifications.

Here is some info lifted off the web

Dental implants are the best way to replace missing teeth. Contrary to some reports they are nothing new, in fact the root form dental implant in use today is a refinement of the original PI Branemark design from the late 1960's. However the technology has become much more predictable to the point where it is one of the most predictable and long lasting of all dental procedures.

A dental implant is a replacement root for a missing tooth or tooth which required removal. It is usually made of titanium or titanium alloy. The unique properties of the implant and its surface preparation allow your jaw bone to grown directly onto the implant and the implant becomes fused to the bone.

Using this artificial root, your Prosthodontist can build teeth, groups of teeth, whole arches of teeth or stabilize dentures, depending on your requirements.

The placement of the implant is very important and requires precise planning. Its a once off procedure and is very difficult to correct if misplaced. There are also a number of types of dental implant on the market and while they all will integrate to the bone, the way the teeth are attached to the implant will have implications for you in the future. Ensure your dentist uses implants which have high level research over long periods of time.

The placement of the implant is much like having a tooth removed but in reverse, a lot of people cannot believe how quick and painless the procedure is.

Dental implants need to be brushed and flossed like natural teeth. While we believe that a successfully integrated implant could last your entire life, the prosthesis screwed into the implant may require periodic maintenance just like your natural teeth do.

Implant dentistry is a significant investment, do it once and do it right.

    Hi luck 11

I have just started seeing a new dentist (sounds like I am describing a romantic relationship there ha!) and actually I think I'm selling him short by saying dentist he's a prosthodontist - the net tells me this means ''a dental specialist who is skilled in the replacement of missing teeth and the restoration of natural teeth. A prosthodontist has graduated from dental school and usually will have three or more years of continuing education after that''

Now I went in to see about crowns not missing teeth and I have not started the treatments yet as I have to get other stuff done first, so I can't comment on that side of things yet but I will say he seems great, very nice but professional and the price of my treatment is very reasonable compared to others, I felt very looked after after my appointment and not just like he wanted money or didn't really give a c**p and wanted me out of the chair so he could get on with his day, like some other dental appointments I have been too!

I will PM you his name if you want to have a look at the website, hopefully I will be back here with a big smile in a few months after my work is done, woo hoo can't wait!!

    Hi all
I am in Donegal and I'm looking to get a lot of dental work done. My front teeth have a 'lot' of fillings and I need a crown, implants and maybe veneers. I was hoping someone on here would know about this and the best place to get treatment nearby. Any advice would be much greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Michelle
