Any advice on DIY alloys scuff repair?

I found this - http://www.lvvservices.com/how-do-i-repair-alloy-wheel-scuffs.html on a quick search and i have seen Halfrauds do a kit and was hoping some folks would have advice through doing their own repairs themselves and got good results.

Scuffed on the rim on all 4 but not too deep and the wheels have a dark tinge in them so i was thinking of repairing and doing a darker lip on the alloys instead of trying to blend it in with the rest, maybe Black or a real dark Gunmetal.

Want to do it myself either way and as cost effective as possible .
