i'm urging everyone on here to start backing Donald for the us open as soon as possible and every week untill the event

    i already have a decent amount down e/w at 25/1 and 18/1,he's now 16/1

i'm not for one second suggesting this is a really great prediction, anyone could pick him out,his whole game will be totally suited to the track, this course favours a fader also which is a great help, yes under pressure he can pull a few left but i'll be happy with the e/w money and am pretty sure of a decent run,

my aim by the off is to have enough on to pocket a approx €1.5k for a place

1 win in 5 years on the PGA Tour won't have me runnining to the bookies. Very consistent player, so maybe as a place bet he's ok but not to win it.

I was only thinking this myself, only English player i can see of the current "golden generation" likely to win one.
15 years since an English golfer won a major

At 16:1 you'll need to stake €375 to collect €1500 if he places.
No thanks. Too many horses in the field for that to be interesting.

meh, still placing a bet on westwood, i've done so for 2 years now, 5 each way, no exactly breaking the bank. he's bound to get the job done soon

€750 is the stake if backing each way, although the OP said he has him backed at different prices from 25's down so probably about €600 stake (€300ew) to collect €1500 if he places, definitely not worth it.

No doubt it's a good bet. Don't go too mad though plenty of golf left in the year to be betting on no need to blow it all on the one chance. I like KJ at 40/1 TBH. Price easily reflects his chance.

Luke only 14/1 on PaddyPower at the moment.

    Hi,
If you are happy with the place money you should back him on bet fair when the markey opens i sure he will be more than 3/1 for a top 5.

One of the most talented Golfers I've ever seen live. However, is also one of the worst closers in the game.

I could never back him with confidence.

Didn't they say it suited Rory as he has a natural draw?

After watching Donald limp home at Wentworth, the smart money was never going on him.

I'm only seeing this thread now. I can see the appeal of Donald but I think he was overgolfed by the time the US Open came around. Wouldn't be surprised to see him play very little up to the British Open.

I did the same but I did it with Westwood. Easy in hindsight and all that but I started backing him at 22s. His record for his last 7 majors: 3,3,2,16,2,11,3.

Hard to see him out of the top 5/10 in the British Open either.

to be fair the weather couldn't have turned out worse for Luke,i don't really buy the tiredness thing,he had a week off before the us open(i think),for a pro golfer, fit as a flee i reckon it was a mixture of him just not playing well and conditions not being as he or i expected
