Hi guys! Im looking for some advice re Business in DCU..

Firstly I'm currently studying English in UCD... I've grown up over the past few months though and I have realized that although it was what I wanted to do at the time, and still enjoy, I know that I dont want to go into teaching and would much prefer a career in the business world..

Now, instead of continuing on in English, I want to study Business, and I am considering Business in DCU.

My first question is about transferring. Is it possible to transfer courses to DCU? I know I will have to do first year again and pay fees, but for now thats not what I'm worried about, Im more concerned about the ability to transfer to DCU or will I have to enter via the CAO again.. Anybody out there able to help me?

Secondly, I've done loads of research on boards comparing business degrees in the different colleges, but there seems to be only threads comparing BESS in Trinity and Commerce in UCD...

SO, what do you guys think? What are the pros and cons to Business in DCU, and what comparisons have you heard from your friends etc?

Any help at all would be much appreciated guys! Thanks in advance! :p

I would recommend doing the international course, taking up a language differentiates you when it comes to interviews in fourth year. There are a lot of Business courses in Ireland, fewer which incorporate languages and having one opens up a lot of opportunities. Also, with the current economic climate, a lot of straight business students are failing to find placements for third year whereas if you do the international side you go on erasmus instead which is a brilliant year. Of course if you hate languages then straight business if probably the better option. DCU Business has an excellent reputation in Ireland though so whichever course you go with you will be well prepared to work.
