BBs rolling out of barrel.

Right I'm having great luck at the moment.

    Problem No.1
I was out playing yesterday and my CA416 stopped firing the bbs out the barrel, instead they just rolled out when I tipped the gun.

At the moment this happened the gun got louder and sounds similar to when it is dry fired.

When I got home I took the hop-up unit out and checked the rubber, nub and the unit as a whole, nothing was out of place.

Any ideas on what could be wrong with the gun?

    Problem No.2
My CYMA AKS-74u is firing strange, 1 out of every 3 bbs is either only going 2ft or hitting the ground really soon.

Again I checked the hop-up rubber, nub and unit as a whole, nothing was out of place.

I really don't know whats wrong, but I'm not have having great luck with the guns.

    Thanks for any help.

    Where were your guns Downgraded?

The ak was done in HobbyAirsoft and the CA416 was done in GoTac.

Are you asking to see if the cylinder or air nozzle have been drilled?

I can tell you that the CA416 isn't drilled and I'm not sure about the AK, will check for you later.

    A quick Google search :D
The problem is most likely that your gears aren't connecting with the piston. This is NOT a problem you should try to fix on your own unless you are experienced. I would stop shooting the gun to avoid stripping the teeth off of your piston. Bring it to an airsoft retailer near you, they should be able to fix the problem

I did a bit of googling myself but the symptons aren't quite the same as the ones I found through googling.

The only thing that I found through googling is that it might be the tappet plate or indeed a (slightly) stripped piston.

I'm considering using the 416 as a project to finally learn to work on my gearbox. I'm under no iimpression that it will be easy but youtube and mechbox, will be of much help to me in this.

Problem one: Hop, air nozzle or tappet plate.
The hop may look fine, but it's got no grip on the bb's and they're just rolling out. The air nozzle could be pushing very slightly too far forward and is pushing them out. Or the tappet plate is worn causing the air nozzle to go further.

Solution, try a new hop, then look inside.

Problem two: sounds similar to one.

New hop-up rubber on the way already :D
I will wait until those are installed to open the 416's gearbox.

    Thanks lefty.

By George I think i've got it,

theres no air coming from the air nozzle, but it still moves when fired, so the tappet plate is fine, the piston still moves fully, so no stripped teeth (hopefully) so I think the piston head is broken.

Could this be the cause of the problem in the 416?

Ok so I finally found an allen key to take the mag release off.

When I opened it the piston head was in the top of the cyclinder and not attached to the piston. Now the head itself looks fine but I cant seem to get it back together.

Just wondering is anything missing below?

Oh and problem 2 was solved with a new Hop-Up rubber :D
Thanks for the help on that one.

On problem 1 the metal part that is inside the piston is missing, somehow and now the screw has nothing to attach to.

Well if the piston is broken I think your only option really is to get a new one.

Also I would make sure that metal piece isn't bouncing around inside your gearbox as it could destroy the gears.

Right I think I've just fixed it, will test in the morning.

I remembered when I first took the recievers apart a small nut fell out, which I had no idea what it was from.
Than bam it hit me, that was holding the piston head on and sure enough it went on and everything assembled perfectly (I hope).

All that is left to do is to test it. Who knows maybe I might end up with a whole new gearbox :(

Thanks to all that helped me here :D
