Fuely or the like will give you real world mpg figures and show usage type.

honest john (despite some posters dislike) is a good place to start

Add them all up and calculate the average!! :D

To be honest though, i'd take all those figures with a pinch of salt.

The biggest determinant of mpg is going to be your driving style (how heavy your right foot is and how you anticipate corners, roundabouts, traffic lights and so on) and driving conditions (ie motorway driving, city driving etc)

For example, with my Golf GTI i can average anywhere between 24mpg and 36 mpg on an identical journey the only variable being my driving style.

    www.whatmpg.co.uk is another one

True, depending on my mood, song on the radio, other drivers etc ...it all has an effect on my driving style.

My main issue with HJ recommendations (aside from it being riddled with inaccuracies and utter horse sh1t) is that when someone starts a thread looking for advice, experiences etc the HJ recommendation is a tad useless :)

The Octavia, VAG Tdi jokes etc etc are very much over done :)

EPMs recommendation to have a peak at fuelly or other such sites was bang on as they are real life mpg figures, HJ mpg figures are at best based on limited test drive results, at best.

Of course as the OP couldn't be arsed to tell us what C180 he/she is on about the direction to HJ is apt.

Thanks to all who replied. Your recommendations have answered my question.

A C180 Kompressor 1.8 petrol was what I was initially interested in but really I was looking for access to the mpg for all (or most) C180s and Mazda 6s

    Thanks again everybody
