    Hi,

Does anyone know if I would be entitled to extra pay for working bank holidays and public holidays etc?

Work in a bar the last two year and the boss has informed us that we are not entitled to anything extra.

    Thanks in advance.

No, I think it would be odd to get paid anything extra.

You're not entitled to anything other than this

I think you're entitled to a paid day in lieu for working a bank holiday as far as I know. That's the way it worked when I worked in pubs a few years back. Organisation of Working Time is the Act that will let you know your entitlements.

    Section here

Employees who qualify will be entitled to either the public holiday off as paid leave or one of the following alternatives:

A paid day off within a month of the public holiday
An additional day of annual leave
    An additional day's pay
The nearest church holiday to the public holiday as a paid day off
