    Hi there

I am purchasing a digital cutter and am trying to decide between the Silouette HD and the Cricut Expression. Would love any feedback or pro/cons on the two :)

    Thanks!

Everybody I know loves Cricut for ease of use, but the cartridges are expensive. (I know a couple of people who have bought other brands and then switched to Cricut.)

Hold off for a few weeks before you make your mind up because there's a brand new machine available this month - the eCraft. It doesn't require a cutting mat, which saves you money AND also means you can load multiple sheets of card/paper/vinyl at a time AND it means you can cut virtually any length (takes 12in wide). There's also the option to load a pen and blade so you can draw and/or cut (other machines require you to take the blade out before putting a pen in). It comes with a load of designs as well as the option to plug into your computer to do your own designs. The cartridges for extra designs are about half the price of Cricut cartridges.
Check out the US website craftwellusa.com for all the specs.

Thanks a million. That's interesting about the new machine. I did a good few hours research on both yesterday and I may just go for the Silhouette :) I'm holding off for a few weeks anyway so I'll take a peek at the ecraft too.

    Thanks again

There's a UK website now: craftwell.co.uk It includes a video on using the machine and I found loads of other videos about it on YouTube.
I know someone who got one last week and LOVES it. She showed me loads of cards she'd made in one evening, and she hasn't even hooked it up to her computer yet. :)
