    Hi,
My six year old daughter downloaded games to my i phone, I didn't mind as the games were free. I looked at my i tunes account and she spent €260 today buying coins and pet food ect on pet hotel.

Do I have any hope of getting the money back.:(

    Rgds

No harm in asking Apple, but the first thing they'll want to know is why you let your 6 year old have your iTunes password. She will have had to enter that in order to make the purchases.

Its unlikely, its like getting a huge telephone bill for calls that your fully sure wern't made but then find out one of the kids was ringing pals mobiles.
If you dont want it to happen again you can open up an Itunes account without a credt card and let her sign in using that. She will be able to get all the free stuff but not able to get any of the charged for apps. You'll need a different email than the one you are using for itunes at the moment.. I set up one recently for a friend who bought an Ipad but doesn't have a credit card.
It was here that I got the instructions on how to do it:

Edit: When you get it set up you need to go to the apps store on the iphone scroll down to "your account" click on it & sign out, then sign in then on use existing account and enter the new email and password. The iphone will have the new email in the user field every time you go to the app store.

I know my fault, I let her download free games and the poor child was buying coins and treats for the pets.I have contacted Apple so hopefully I might get some good will, if not then it is a good lesson.:(

They have refunded in the past, but the big difference there was that those involved didn't let their child have the password, they downloaded the games themselves and handed over the iPhone/Pad/Pod. The child then bought all the stuff within the 15 minute window where the password didn't have to be re-entered. Apple changed that system with an update though, so now a password is needed straight away to make in-app purchases, even if they are made within the 15 minutes, so they may not be as willing to refund as they were before the update.

I would imagine that their business plan goes beyond whatever money they can garner from mistaken purchases. :p

It is indeed a nice gesture though, and good customer relations practice.
