Boxing with braces

My brother wants to start boxing but the only problem is he has braces on the top and bottom teeth!! He's still going to do it anyway, but I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with it? I'd imagine one tough blow to his jaw/teeth would totally mess them up if he has permanent braces on

Also are there any special mouthguards for braces?

    Thanks!

A dentist can organise a specific mouthguard for use with braces. Anyway if he is only starting to box it will be some time before he will be sparring.

Oh ok thanks a mil! He's afraid to ask the orthodontist cos he thinks he'll just say don't do it!! It's like him asking what type of fizzy drink he should have :D
