    Hello Guys ,

I'm looking for some guidance , I hope that people can help me or offer me some sort of solution to my problem. I am studying Accounting and Finance in College , and I am in my last Year. All my exams have gone really well except for the last one which was TAX , Now it wasn't just myself but the whole class is complaining about it. Now basically after doing some investigation I have found that My lecturer gave the ACCA TAXATION paper of JUNE2010 as our final exam , word for word. Is he allowed to do this ? Could the exam be called Void ? What steps can i pursue.

Would really love some guidance on this

    Thanks for reading

My advice is.... you should prepare for exams in future. And also, don't panic until you see your result.

Don't be worrying Sarge. You'll probably be fine! My last CIMA exam a few weeks back was the worst I have ever felt after an exam. I got 50% which was all I needed to pass.

When I was doing my BAAF in AIT many years ago our IT/IS lecturer told us he was giving us a CIMA startegic level paper for our final. It was met initially with despair. To be honest when you leave college you will probably apply for exemptions for one of the accounting bodies and you will see that is the level you will be looking at when you start professional exams if that is a route you decide to take.

In saying that the lecturer marked it like a college exam because I passed it no bother. Wasn't as easy when I was doing them with CIMA.

That's likely to be key. It's unlikely to be marked as hard as if it were marked by the prof body.

And yet the student will probably qualify for an exemption from the professional body exam based on taking the course. Doesn't necessarily make a lot of sense does it?

Was it the F6 or P6 exam they gave u? If it was the P6 thats way to hard an exam at that level, its a lot harder than even a masters level tax exam imo. I dont think a F6 standard of exam in the final year of an honours degree is to unreasonable though.

Excellent. Less than 10% of ACCA students get higher than 60% - You should fly through the exams :D

If only it was that easy but thanks :-) , I have actually decided to complete a Masters of arts in Accounting . Found it very hard to get into a firm or even an interview and my lowest exam result was 65% , so Masters seems like my only option.
