nikon 18-135 af not working

    i have an nikon 18-135 dx ED and the auto focus has packed up has any one else had a similar problem with this or any other digital nikon lens..do i get it repaired or buy a new on ?:( will it happen again.

    I had same problem with same lens. I hadn't used it so much and I put it on a camera after about a year and noticed it didn't autofocus, tried it on a few cameras and same problem. Got it fixed,€150 expensive. So my advice to you is to consider buying a different focal length lens and use the 18-135 lens manually focussing. It was the autofocus motor that was faulty in mine and would you believe I haven't really used it since I got it fixed.
    Just to add it was a kit lens with a D80
