When to start handing out C.V's and applying for Jobs online

    Hi all,

    The job I have at the moment will finish in early August, it is a temporary position and there is no possibility of extension.

    Come August, I will be looking for a job in Retail, Hotels etc. My plan is to start handing out c.v's to stores and applying online in early July, one month before I am due to finish. Would this be too late??. My thinking is that if I hand them out now my application will be confused with those looking for summer jobs whereas I am after a permanent position and am not available all summer.

    What do peole think is the best time to start hitting stores with C.V's?? Am I giving myself enough time by leaving it until July??

    If it was me i'd start looking now - If you get a job before august then just quit the one you have now.

    First 2 weeks of August is one of the worst times of year to look for a job- most HR staff will be on summer holidays and you'll find it difficult to get interviews during that time. I'd be looking asap tbh.
