    Are you serious? No I have an American Fender Stratocaster with more than decent amp and equipment. However the guitars intonation is out, so I want to get it setup. Thanks.

    Derek Nelson is the best I know of, charges a bit more but he's sorted numerous tricky setup problems for me.

    He's out in marlay park in rathfarnham, look up Danvel musical instruments

    Where are you based? I imagine it'd be better to recommend somewhere close to you.

    I'd recommend learning to do it yourself. Setting intonation is a very easy thing to do and should only take you a couple of minutes. There should be some vids on youtube of how to do it.

    Especially if you've got "more than decent equipment", you should know how it works too ;)

    I would rather let a professional set up my guitar that knows what they are doing rather than run the risk of causing some damage. Anyway I am based on the north side of Dublin. Any help is appreciated! Many thanks.

    You have to adjust six screws a tiny bit, you can't possibly damage the guitar. It's exactly like tuning your guitar.

    Dedicated repair shops;

    Eugene McLoughlin - www.guitarworkshop.net
    John Moriarty - www.archtop.ie
    Derek Nelson
    Guitar Fix
    Dublin Guitar Repair Centre

    Stores that do setups;

    Dublin Guitar Centre
    Perfect Pitch
    Music Maker

    Even though we do setups on items in our own store, we do send our own instruments out every year or so to one of the above for some work. I personally use John Moriarty and Eugene McLoughlin and find them both excellent, as well as Jethro Pickett in our store, who has done some really nice setups for me. All of the above are good and the shops should have someone able to do that work too. It's never a bad idea to let a professional adjust your instrument :)

    Hope this helps

    Thanks for all the help. I did find a very handy Youtube video so I will give it a go and see how she comes out sounding.

    Cheers,

    True, but every so often it's nice to play a guitar that has been intonated using a top of the line Peterson...

    Plus, if the intonation is way out, a truss rod adjustment might also be necessary, which many people would prefer to leave to someone experienced.
