went to the nct centre today with a buddy and as we were waiting a tester went out and got into the next test car, revved the crap outta it then proceeded to spin the wheels in one spot for about 2 or 3 secs then flew off around the corner and into the ramp area.

There was a smell of burnt rubber and clutch from the car.
they obviously have no respect for cars and dont care what happens to them. I had a look for the owner of the car to tell them but couldnt find them.

are you liable if something breaks at the test centre ?

Good point. Some bad apples in that NCT crowd for sure. But I suppose you could say that about any job. If something breaks in the test centre due to them, we both know what happens.

while i understand its never nice to see your car treated harshly by anyone, not to mind someone in a 'respected' authority, but to be honest if your car cant handle a wheelspin or getting revved hard temporarily without causing a fault, something underlying was wrong in the first place. but i do understand the annoyance and disrespect

To provide some balance, my last NCT involved the driver carefully putting the car through the test and then afterwards complimenting me on how good the car was. He was very polite, friendly, etc.

I've had the same experience as kbannoon too TBH, every time, about 8 times over the last 4 years.

Thread title should be 'One NCT employee has no respect' as opposed to the entire NCT.

Did it involve a pre-arranged phone call and €100? :p

Nah. It actually failed as one headlamp was a few degrees off.
