Today i got this call, from the start i knew it was a scam but i thought id waste some of there time and was curious to see what they wanted with my computer, so i went through there little trust test they do to try and get your trust by showing you the errors in event viewer, after this 10 minutes of trying to show you how many errors and warnings you have they then tell you to go to www.logmein123.com which is a safe site itself but its used for remote controling other peoples pc's, anyway after that i ask where they got my number, i kept getting the answer from our database, then i got passed on to her, supposedly manager who also couldnt answer and kept saying from out database lol windows doesnt store a phone number lol, they are random callers playing hit and miss hoping to find people with compters, DONT TRUST them, if you think your computer is infected then download a virus program, i would recommmend avast, they havee a free and paid version both are just as good as each other. hope the helped

quick view of what they ask you to do

    1. they ask you to RUN eventvw
    2. they ask you to tell them roughly how many errors and warnings you have
    3. they will then give you the "you have alot of errors" speach
4 they wll ask you to run www.logmein123.com

you are safe up until this point, if you go further they will have access to your computer, so play with them as you wish and waste there time,

the number they call from is 0200000123

    Hope this has helped

Had them pulling their hair out trying to get me to understand what they wanted done. Got through 4 different people, each one getting more stressed. Had to hang up and go for physio before it played out, soo looking forward to next call. :D:D

thats all very well but thats thread is a year old and if you google the phone number they use this thread now pops up so if someone is suspicious of the call they can now quickly google the number and can see it is a scam :) i know i googled them when they first called me before i even did anything to see. but thanks for the link anyway although no one still knows where they get our number, its not random calling as they knew the account name that i have thats only with eircom so either eircom and other companies are selling our details or they have employees thats work there (highly unlikly) lol.

Had a call again from my friendly PC virus fixer. Did not have time for a laught so after saying very intresting a few times I asked if I needed to go next door to borrow a computer as I did not have one. He hung up?. Funny thing when I looked at my caller display he was not calling from India but Latvia (00371)
