Arsenal are continuing to dominate the Women's FA Cup. Since their first outing in the final in 1993 Arsenal have reached it 11 times, winning the trophy on 10 occasions.

From reading around, I gather that this is the second FA Cup Final appearance for Bristol Academy, having reached the semi - final on five occasions. They are a relatively new club in terms of football, having been established a little over a decade ago.

Personally, my interest lies in how Galwegian and All Ireland winner, Niamh Fahey, does. She has been the subject of rotation this season but started the game against the same opposition on Thursday night.

Previous meetings between the clubs this season has seen Bristol Academy give Arsenal a tough challenge.

    Women's Super League H Bristol Academy 1 0 Arsenal

    Women's Super League A Bristol Academy 2 2 Arsenal

I don't think there is much to be said about the official taking charge of this match to be honest! :pac:

Seeing as there is no premiership football today, this might just fill that void in our lives! I hope is serves up a cracker.

Oh and purely for my decent-ish attempt at a match thread, ye should watch this and not the SFA!

Arsenal women seem to have more balls than the men.

The Arsenal ladies silverware would put the men to shame..

Is Emma Byrne still in goals? Good keeper in fairness

She's from Sunderland AFAIK, as is Steph Houghton who's also playing.

That Arsenal ladies team could well beat some lower league sides :pac: They're excellent in fairness.

They are brilliant, they move the ball so well with a mixture of long ball down the wings and intricate one touch near the box.

they have the same problem as every women's team though, the goalkeepers are on a par with your local under 14s boys team

kinda takes the sheen off the fact that there are some really good outfield players and makes a mockery of the sport

I don't think the problem is with the keepers really. There has been some very good saves in this match and the Ireland U17 goalkeeper made some great saves in the UEFA competition. I genuinely think the goals are too big.

As the saying goes, it's the quality, not the quantity.

    The small crowd are brilliant!

Saw on Twitter there earlier that the winners of this get £5,000, whereas City got £1.8million for winning the mens. That can't be right?

goals being too big means theres a problem with the keepers though

id agree with making the nets smaller for women though. not sure what we can do about their utter lack of coordination though :P

Sounds right to me, there's far more money in mens football.

Well, women don't have the physique that the men have so they don't have that spring that the men have to tip a ball over the bar. It just means their positioning has to be top notch!

As for the other part. PFFT!
