Yeah seen that myself yesterday. Delighted for him. I don't think it will benefit running in Ireland in any significant way but it can't hurt I suppose.

No disrespect to Coughlan, but it demonstrates what a what of time the senate is.

Have to disagree with you there Ray
Eamonn has a deep knowledge and interest in fitness and lifestyle also his experience outside athletics.
CEO of BLE and his work for Crumlin hostipal.
Eamonn has a lot of orginsational expericance both in organising the 5K race on St.Patricks Day plus other events.

the senate is there to add a non-political debate to bills, Although it needs to be reviewed completely, We still require one.

Best of Luck to Eamonn on the new role.

Im with Ray on this - while its great a diverse range of people got places in the senate with these picks [not the usual political hacks who did not win seats last time]

I really do think the senate a massive waste of time and money. The sooner its abolished [gigantically reformed] the better.

But surely having Coghlan there even if it is a waste of time and money is a good thing for the sport. It won't harm it.
