This raven that haunts the dark woods of my deeper consciousness, he glares at me amidst his menacing gothic surroundings, the half broken abbey, the mist from above. What is that I do to escape to where the dove and sunny rolling pastures lie?

Does the gothic help us in understanding our deeper inner most thoughts, particularly when we are down?

There's a time and a place for everything OP. This might be the time but it certainly isn't the place.

I appreciate what you're trying to do to a forum bereft of anything other than depravity but you're just going to get the piss ripped out of you or Simpsons quotes in the process.

I think it just helps us to accept them. By glamourising the moodiness of misery - which isn't necessarily a bad thing - until we go too far and start to laud it, as in the EMO culture.

"Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,

Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,

While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,

As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.

`'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door -

    Only this, and nothing more.'"

...Over many a strange and spurious website of 'hot chicks galore',

...While I clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning,

...And my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour.

..."'Tis not possible," I muttered, "give me back my cheap hardcore!" -

    Quoth the server, "404".

Hi OP, why don't you and the raven throw on your leather trenchcoats and go down the pub, have a few pints and get a roide. Do you far more good than all these teen angst navel gazing theads you're going in for lately. 'snot healthy at your age.
