I have seen on ads on the likes of Daft that offer cable tv and internet. I have two questions.

1/ Is the cablle tv generally sky tv or freeview.

2/ Are these included in the rent or will i have to pay for these in addition to the rent.

    It's quite often totally inaccurate.

Cable TV should be CABLE TV i.e. from UPC or another cable provider.

However, I regularly see ads on daft with cable tv in areas where there is no cable !

Cable TV is not satellite, nor is it MMDS.

and a Washer Dryer is NOT a tumble dryer, it's a washing machine with a small hairdryer attached.

Generally- where cable tv and internet are offered- it is an integrated offering from a single provider (such as UPC as an example). So- you get cable broadband, along with cable tv- the basic package typically being a 20Mb broadband connection along with a basic tv package (typically ~25 channels- which would include all the Irish and UK terrestrial channels (including the likes of BBC1,2,3,4 ITV 1,2,3,4, C4, C5, Possibly Discovery, Sky 1, Sky News etc).

Normally the intention behind the add is that the property has these services- not that you are getting them as a freebie tossed in (though of course you can discuss this with the landlord, anything is fair game these days).

FYI- if you're on the internet at all- cable broadband definitely is the way to go :D

Unless the ad specifically mentions that cable TV/internet is included in the rent you will have to pay for it yourself.

I moved into plenty of places that advertised cable TV and actually didn't have it at all. It wasn't even available in the area!!

The estate agent just saw a TV jack on the wall and assumed it was cable. Or, MMDS or Sky is cable.

My main interest in having cable would be that it's UPC and has very fast broadband.
