Photo transfer from camera to laptop problem

My laptop is about 4 years old and when I connect my Fuji Finepix s5600 it automatically opens Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 , this then asked to register with Adobe which I never did and I just clicked the register later tab and worked away. Today I tried to get photos from the camera but the Adobe Photoshop 3.0 just copies the photos instead of transferring them to the my pictures folder. I then tried to register but is says its no longer available.

Is there any free download I can use ? I went to download a trial of a new photoshop edition but it says it will take 3 hours to download. Am I stuck with a 30 day trial unless I buy something ?

Just close the adobe thingy and open My Computer. This should should your camera (if it's connected) as an extra drive. Double click the camera icon and it should show your pics in a folder. Open the "My Pictures" folder seperately so you now have tow windows open. Drag and drop from your camera's folder into your "My Pictures" folder.

As PnB says, will work. You can also change the action perfmorned when the device is connected.
Connect it up, browse to My Computer, right-click the device icon and select Properties. From the dialog box that opens, go to the AutoPlay tab and from there you can select what action the device takes when you connect it. At the moment its set to open Photoshop, but that can be amended.
