Reel to reel tape repairs?

Hey, I have a Tascam TSR-8 with a belt issue. The belt is slightly loose and keeps coming off. There is a substance called Rubber Renue (sic) that would fix the issue but, believe it or not, they won't ship here because of safety issues with the transport. This stuff is available and used by people all over the world (it was recommended to me by two americans and a brazillian) and has distributors as close as France and Poland but they won't ship it to Ireland.

Due to this it looks like I'm going to have to put it in somewhere for a repair. Massive pain in the hole. I don't live anywhere convenient for this sort of thing and the unit weighs a tonne.
Does anybody know someone who might a) be able to get me some of this magical yet highly dangerous elixir? or b) know someone who might be able to replace the belt.
    Thanks.

Have you contacted Tascam about getting a replacement belt ?

The problem would be fitting it. With the rubber renue you simply "paint" some of this stuff on and leave the belt on it's pulley overnight and it tightens up. Removing it is a nightmare as there's a lot of mechanics in the way. I wouldn't like to try dismantling that amount of stuff just to find I couldn't put it back together.
I started and got scared very quickly. There's some very intricate parts that have to be completely taken apart to move them out of the way. If the person who is repairing it needs me to get a new belt I'll go down that route but I'm hoping whoever knows about these things might know of a Rubber Renue type solution and save me a lot of pain.

Niall Shorthall. You will get him through Big Bear. Old school, would have fixed hundreds of tape machines in his day.
