Change Ubuntu Desktop?

I just installed Ubuntu 11.04 but I have to say I'm not mad about the new UI with that sidebar thing. I find it hard to know what apps are open and to switch between them. So far I don't like it.

Is there a way to change it to something else?

    Thanks!

It's a pain in the tits at the best of times!
Log out, click your username and then before entering your password, click on "Ubuntu" at the bottom of the screen and choose "Ubuntu Classic" then continue logging on..
