Would be a good place to travel by yourself for a couple of weeks? Anyone recommend it or eh not recommend it?

I have never been but everything I have heard about Norway always goes along the lines of "We thought Ireland was the most expensive country until we got there" Norway is supposed to be shockingly expensive for everything.

If you plan to eat out every night, yes Norway is very expensive.
If you buy groceries in a shop and make your own food, its just the same as in Ireland.:D

Yeah - Sweden and Finland are nice. They're pricey, but not more so than Ireland, there's plenty to do, and a great nightlife. Outside the cities people can be very welcoming. Bars in Stockholm can sometimes feel like you've stepped into a H&M catalogue. I'd definitely recommend the south-west of Finland too, the lakes are beautiful.

Never been to Norway or Denmark, although I know that they are substantially more expensive. Don't rule out Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania either!

Ive been to Iceland twice. Norway for two weeks, Finland as well for a week and a half a good while ago now.

Also been to Sweden (just Stockholm twice for a few days each time).

My favourite has been definitely Iceland - just so much to see if you plan it right although you do need a car (or jeep). We managed with a car. They all have their atrractions and they all are surprisingly different. From Finland you could also visit Estonia, the Aland Islands (part of Finland but speak swedish) and Sweden. Fly home from Sweden.

Norway too is great. Its easy to get up to within the Arctic circle. Train it up visiting places and fly down. Wideroe have good deals if you book before you get to Norway for non norwegains http://www.wideroe.no/english/

The train ride to Bergen from Oslo is really spectacular with the side trip to Flam or Flem (I think - minds hazy) another great trip. Ice and snow even in the height of summer.

I'm Icelandic so I'm a bit biased although I've visited all the other Nordic countries as well.

    Experience nature: Iceland or Norway.
    City break: Copenhagen or Stockholm.
Value for money: Iceland (due to the highly favorable exchange rate).
