Milk recording results show lower butterfat % than protein % for a few cows. I think this is SARA (sub acute rumen acidosis).

Cows are getting 2.5 kg of top quality nut in parlour and have plenty of grass.

Anyone know what can be done to fix this ?

Are the low BF% cows cudding, loose, foamy dung? Are they looking for stones or long grass on verges etc. They might be naturally low BF.

Fibre in the form of straw, soya hulls/citrus/beet pulp to reduce starch/sugar in diet, add sodium bicarb, reduce fats like distillers.

might try a circular feeder and bale of barley straw on the way in/out if they eat it they need it

tried hay and straw for the last few weeks it made no difference. thankfully fats are higher again 3.67 than protein 3.46- last week fats were as low as 3.42 but expected this time of year- it happens this time of year with grass quality
