1999 C Class diesel - €2500

Are these C class diesels any good? Currently driving a 1994 Carina E... (for my sins)

Is €2500 too much to pay? It's got 150k on the clock - should I steer clear?

Any advice (things to watch out for, etc.) would be greatly appreciated.

I've only got €2500 to spend on a car that's to do me for the next 3 years... ;( So any other suggestions are welcome.

Really? If I can get him down around the €2k mark, I'll be happy...

€2k is more like it if it has a long NCT and is in good working order. Is it an auto? If not, it's not that much of an upgrade from your Carina :D

If you don't need a diesel and don't mind paying 2.0 tax €2500 goes a long way.

Get an Avensis 2.0 td (not d-4d)
Mine has been brilliant and I'm doing serious mileage.
Very similar to the carina but if dependable driving is what you're after then it fits the bill.
I'm 800km to a tank mixed driving and not taking it handy
