Facebook Fan Page & profile - linking.

I set up a Facebook profile for my new website. However I soon realised it should really be a “Page” and not a profile, so I used the convert tool and it worked fine, I now have the page working fine. Thing is, its strange as a page as you cannot operate like a normal facebook account.

What I read is that if you have a normal profile, and you create a page from within it, you can then link the two and make your profile ‘act’ as your page. Thing is I have already created the page.

Does anyone know the best way to fix this? I could just start again but really I want to keep the short url that I got.

The transfer from profile to page has been problematic and there's been a lot of issues.

Pages are different to Profiles in many ways so a lot of the features you would be used to will not be the same.

You can't link a page and a profile other than a profile can be an admin for a page.

For example, I manage a number of pages so I log in as myself and then go to one of my pages. When I get there I can run the page as the page.

Do you have your own personal profile? Why nor make it an admin on the page?

Hi guys , just resurrecting this thread in the hope that there is someone out there that can help me with this. I am going to change a profile to a Page very shortly and I really don't want to lose the thousands of friends on it.
I know there is a function but I' not sure what the procedure is and what the expected success rate is for the operation. Anyone with any experience would be greatly appreciated right now?
