This has probably been posted already, but here I go anyway. I have a white MacBook, late 2008. Recently I've noticed a cracking in the plastic just at the bottom left hand side where you'd leave your wrist. I think I remember reading before about this being a known problem and apple repairing it. Just want to see if anyone has any info on that or did I just imagine it.

Yes it's a know issue, that Apple have typically been repairing free of charge even for out of warranty machines. You'll need to contact an authorized Apple Service centre, and they'll advise you of the procedure.

as barryj said really. I got mine changed on Thursday. It's all nice and clean and shiny again! :)

Got mine changed in GalMac in Galway. I sent them an email first and they asked for the serial number of the laptop and then ordered the casing. I dropped it in and went to do some shopping and it was done the same evening. Compare that to going into CompuB in Limerick and being told that they'd have to take my machine for 4 or 5 days!

They should do, yeah. Bring it to an Apple Authorised Service Provider.
